City Winery

Celebrating the Hudson Valley Wine & Food Fest 2023 participating wineries

In 2008 Michael Dorf, the impresario who founded the legendary Knitting Factory in New York City, caught the wine-making bug upon creating his first barrel in California with his brother Josh and winemaker David Tate, formerly of Ridge Winery. After starting off by giving away bottles with his name on it to friends, in 2006 he got serious, mapping out a unique business plan to create an urban-based chain of wineries. The plan turned out to be hugely successful, as there are now ten City Winery locations, located in the cities of New York, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and St. Louis, at Grand Central in NYC and one right here in the Hudson Valley, on the outskirts of the village of Montgomery in the shadow of the Shawangunks. Each of these upscale venues offers intimate concerts, food and wine seminars, private event spaces and dining amid a fully functioning winery. The company also runs four additional “concept” venues: City Vineyard at Pier 26  and City Winery at Rockefeller Center in NYC; City Winery Chicago at the Riverwalk; and Cornelius restaurant in Grand Central Terminal. City Winery Hudson Valley is at 23 Factory Street in Montgomery NY. Call (845) 424-0222 for more information.

Presented by WineRacks.com, The Hudson Valley Wine & Food Festival will take place on September 9th and September 10th at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, N.Y., which will be transformed into a foodie paradise featuring some of the best wines and culinary treats that the Hudson Valley and beyond have to offer.
